Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) has recently organized a day long “Marketing Orientation Training Program” on 17th June 2015, for the new comers in the tourism industry. Participants were given an insight into the tourism operations of Bangladesh and the ways to improve it. The training session was held in Bangladesh Tourism Board’s conference hall.
The “Familiarization Tour – 2015” has just been organized and completed by Bangladesh Tourism Board in which representatives of 11 famous tour operators from Nepal, Bhutan and India participated. From 22nd to 30th May participants travelled around Bangladesh and experienced Paharpur Buddha Bihar, Sixty Dome Mosque, Sundarbans, Cox’s Bazar and many other prime tourist spots. They have also been introduced with the rural Bangladesh and Spiritual lifestyle of Bauliana in Kushtia.
In this regard a B2b Meeting followed by a Cultural and Dinner session has also been organized by Bangladesh Tourism Board on 30th May 2015 at the Ball room of Washington Hotel. During the session Foreign Tour Operators expressed their eagerness to work with our local Tour Operators.
At the Cultural and dinner session the Honorable Minister, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Mr. Rashed Khan Menon was present as the Chief Guest. Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Mr. Khurshed Alam Chowdhury was present as the special guest.
A four day golf tournament titling “Bashundhara Bangladesh Open” is being held at Kurmitola Golf course of Dhaka on May 27 to May 30, 2014.
Participants are attending the tournament under the Asian Tour banner. This tournament is being organized with the goal to bring more foreign golfers in Bangladesh to enhance the domestic Golf arena. The main sponsor of “Bashundhara Bangladesh Open” is Bashundhara group while the event is being organized by RIZ events.
Bangladesh Tourism Board is proudly cosponsoring the event. “This kind of events shall introduce Bangladesh as a well known golf venue to the world and at the same time it will patronize our local talents” said Mr. Akhtaruzzaman Khan Kabir, Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Tourism Board on the inauguration ceremony of the tournament. He also said Sports is one of the major elements that can promote a country’s tourism. Bangladesh Tourism Board has always recognized this fact. That is why Bangladesh Tourism Board yet has sponsored many international sports events such as ICC Twenty20 world cup – 2014. He indicated Cosponsoring “Bashundhara Bangladesh Open” is a similar initiative by Bangladesh Tourism Board. He concluded his speech by reminding the audience about the upcoming Visit Bangladesh year 2016.
Bangladesh Tourism Board believes participating in such tournament just before the tourism year will help them greatly into their campaign on branding Bangladesh.

Other special guest presented at the program were Mr. H.T.Imam adviser to the honorable Prime Minister for political affairs, Mr. Muhammad Faruk Khan MP, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Mr. Khurshed Alam Chowdhury, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and Chairman, Bangladesh Tourism Board and CEO, PATA Mr. Mario Hardy.
At the program many performances were presented to showcase the Bengali culture.
But the main attraction was bringing the awards obtained by “Beautiful Bangladesh – Land of Stories” and “Beautiful Bangladesh – School of life” into the stage.
It Is mentionable here that these are two of the destination TVC made by Bangladesh Tourism Board to showcase Bangladesh as a great tourist destination.
In ITB Fair held in Berlin, Television commercial “Beautiful Bangladesh –Land of Stories”won the 2015 Best Film making (best film) award in ‘Diamond Award’ section. The former Tourism Minister and current Chairman of Civil Aviation and Tourism for the Parliamentary Standing Committee Mr. Faruk Khan received the award. This award is a great achievement for the country. Market Edge ltd produced the TVC in the year 2014.
We are pleased to inform that one of our projects “Beautiful Bangladesh – A Land of Stories” TVC has won Stevie® Award in The International Business Awards 2014. Our agency Market Edge’s Managing Director, Meherun Islam, has received this award at the Westin Paris – Vendome Hotel in Paris, France on October 10, 2014.
